-=PCTechTalk=- outlook express six question , email

HI, I have an email question for outlook express 6.  I use win xp home.  I 
tried creating another email account because I need one for something.  I 
wanted to be able to check it on this computer as well as checking my 
regular email account.  I thought I added the account correctly since I 
received an email I wrote to myself but what also happened, it looked like 
all my saved email that was still in my inbox was sent and I ended up with a 
ton of email.  When I signed out of that email account back to my regular 
one, the same number of emails had been recieved.  Some appeard open, some 
appeared unopened.  I dont know what I did wrong perhaps in setting my my 
new email account.. I put a check mark in recieve and syncronize mail  and 
dont know if that is what did it. I want my email in the state it was in if 
possible.
Can anyone help>
