I have an icon on my desktop that I cannot remove. I received an e-mail
that had a forward e-mail in it and I wished to scan this file before
running it. I saved it to my desktop but when I did it also made a zero byte
file that at the time had no file Association with it. I tried using many
different methods 's to remove this file. I tried saving it as a text file
and then deleting it though it come up with the icon of a text file it's
still would not open nor allowed to be deleted or moved even in safe mode.
I've tried many programs such as move on boot or
http://www.gibinsoft.net/ but still I have this icon on my desktop that I
cannot delete. I do believe that it might be possible from the Google
searches I have done that this could be done through DOS mode or possibly
through editing the registry but I really don't fill up to that.
The original error message is (cannot delete file: cannot read from
source file or disk.) . If any of you may be able to help me I would
appreciate it.
