I went to the troubleshooting Adobe page that Disater posted & followed the 
directions.  Instead of running the Install, I saved it to desktop & closed 
IE  I double clicked on the install & this message appeared: Open file - 
security warning...This publisher has been blocked from running software on 
your machine.  C:\Users\JR\Desktop\install_flash_player.exe

I changed the settings in IE security as everything suggested but every time 
I tried to install the above Security keeps coming up.  When I check the 
changes I made are still there but this security warning keeps popping up. 
I feel like I am just going around in circles.

I am at my wits end & I need to return this computer back by Thursday.  I 
await your next piece of advice.

    I have more patience than most and you're not coming anywhere NEAR my
limit.       lol

    Part of that page contains a Flash utility that scans for and reports on
the installed version of Flash.  It's a few inches down from the top on the
left side of the page (mixed in with the rest of the main content).  I'm not
looking for you to try again.  Just to see if the Flash thing tells you what
version is installed.
