-=PCTechTalk=- backing up

I won't be doing anything with this until after Easter as my whole crew are
coming home. Lots of cooking to do and eggs to color (we still have some
small grandchildren even though our oldest graduates from college this
Spring).
Anyway, on the Acronis Forum a gentleman (Grover Hatcher) had done a
"Beginner's Guide to creating a basic full disk archive" and also a
"Beginner's Guide to restoring a basic full disk archive". It was done for
Version 9 which is what I have so I have printed it off and have been
studying it.
His first task is to create the Acronis Bootable Rescue CD and I can
probably do that. Then confirm all internal, external and CD/DVD drives are
identified within True Image Windows mode and he details how to do that.
Then he says to re-boot using the Rescue CD. I don't know what he means by
that or just how to do that. Maybe it would become clear to me as I moved
along but right now I am not familiar with using a rescue CD to reboot.
That is my first question and I will stop with that.
I have more!!
And I know Mike said I did not need to create the rescue CD if I had the
Acronis disk which I do but perhaps the learning experience would be good.
I really feel beyond my depth with Acronis and sometimes I feel like
dogpaddling back to shore and forgetting the whole thing!
Sandi
P.S. Wishing you all a blessed Easter! Love ya.
