I received this from a friend.
Has anyone heard anything about this????
I knew that the SP2 would be out soon for XP - but that's all I had heard.
It will be a real shame if they ruin stationery making for those who enjoy it.
Let me know if you've heard or hear anything about this!
Thanks!

??
This is a heads up. Right now XP SP2 is in beta testing and should be out for
the public in the near future. I want to warn you of two things with this
upgrade.
First and most important, if you take the upgrade you cannot use any of the
stationery you use now. The only kind that will be able to be used is the kind
that just has a background tile and a midi. No movement will be allowed, no
JavaScript or VBS will be allowed either. The best way to put it is if you
cannot create the stationery with the OE stationery wizard, you cannot use it.
That means even our tables will not work because it takes vbs to put the tiles
on the tables.
The next thing you need to know is if you refuse the upgrade two times, you can
not get the upgrade in the future.
I am not sure if there will be changes made to SP2 before it is released to the
public or not. I am not sure if there is anything we can do to make MS change
their mind and at least add a feature so we can set our settings to accept and
run scripting or not. I am not sure if we all wrote to MS if it would help or
not. There are lots of things I am not sure about but as I find out things I
will let you know. Please if you hear or see anything about any of this, post
it to this group. We need to know what is going on and what, if anything we can
do about it.
I think MS does not think about stat makers when they do these updates and
upgrades. We are not the main stream users so we fall into the cracks. That is
why I wonder if we all wrote to MS if it would make a difference. I have to
think that if they found out how many of us there are out here that they would
start to see they stand to lose lots of money as their products become useless
to us. But who knows if what I think is right? LOL
If you belong to a group that decides to send letters to MS please let us know
that too. Not the name of the group, that is not needed, just that there is a
group sending letters and the addy they are sending them to. If one group does
it we need to get all groups to do it. If there is a chance to turn this around
it will have to be done by all stat makers. Only a few will have no impact but
all of us as a whole would make an impact. So any news you see or hear is
important.
I think it would also be good to tell any group you are on that decides to write
notes that if they offer a solution to the problem MS will be more inclined to
make the changes. So tell them to suggest a setting adjustment be added to OE
for the XP SP2 users so they can change the setting to allow scripts to run in
the email. Most of the time if you offer a company a solution to the problem
you get better results than you do if you just complain about the problem.
