For those interested in making, editing, compiling or converting 
movies on their computer - someone recently pointed me to this 
excellent tutorial site:

The tutorials here (for turning DVDs into [S]VCDs, among other 
things) are among the best I've seen; some nice, visual guides to 
what can be a complicated process.

Don't forget www.doom9.org either, which also has a wealth of 
information, although fewer pictures.  :)
