-=PCTechTalk=- Using your CD-RW's or DVD -RW's like a floppy disk - Erasing Files, etc.

Hi all,

Someone asked about this recently and it just bugged me that I did not know
the answer. I had done it before and could not remember how.
Since I had recently purchased a good number of DVD-Rw's explicitly for this
purpose, I wanted to know the answer to.
So, I wrote to Nero.

Below is their response to me. Yes you can do it and here is how.

Hope this helps. I have only removed personal information from the
correspondence.

Dear valued customer,

thank you for your email and your interest in our software.

To use your recorder like a floppy, you must use our InCD software with
CD-RW or DVD-RW media.
First you format the ReWriteable media with InCD. Once the format is
complete, you can use it like a floppy from within your Windows Explorer,
ÂMy ComputerÂ, or save directly to the media from any program.

Use the following link to download the PDF manual that explains you step by
step how to use InCD:

http://www.nero.com/us/User_Guides_InCD_4.html

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or higher to open this PDF file. If
you donÂt have it, download it for free from Adobe's website at:
www.adobe.com

Should you wish more information, do not hesitate to contact us.

Regards
