-=PCTechTalk=- Transfering to new PC (2) Questions...

Okay, I've found out about transferring my DSL setup. But I still have the
following questions...

 I'm soon going to buy a new PC with (what else?) WinXP installed. As my
current older Win98-using PC has a Zip writer but no CD writer, I figure
I'll have to dump my existing files onto a Zip disk, and then buy an
external Zip drive (about $50) to plug into the new PC's USB hubs to reload
my files onto the new PC...

Much of this seems pretty straightforward to me. Data files out, data files
in. No problem... -Except for how do I transfer the tricky stuff, like my
Outlook Express 5 email files, to WinXP? Also what about my paid-for
software, like Norton Anti-Virus, and certain macro generators, etc? And my
forum membership links? (Such as Yahoo, or PCTechTalk?) Would these transfer
automatically by just transferring my desktop shortcut links to them, over
to the new WinXP PC??

Any clues you can provide for this clueless one will be sincerely cherished
and appreciated....  d];>]}

Merci,
drummer
