Hey, folks,

Hope someone can help me diagnose this little problem I've had for a
while.

I have a 4-speaker and subwoofer audio setup on my system (Creative
FourPointSurround FPS1600). Recently, I've noticed that the volume
dips and raises dramatically, at random intervals.

At first I thought it was a bad connection on one of the speakers,
but I've tried them one at a time and the fluctuations persist.

I've got the latest drivers and mixer for my sound card (Sound
Blaster Audigy, DR release 1.84.40). The volume controls are all set
at 50%, and are [supposedly] synchronised with Windows' own volume
settings.

Unplugging the speaker connections from my sound card occasionally
seems to fix the problem for a short while, but it always returns
after about ten minutes.

Drives me nuts when I'm trying to listen to my choons. :)

TIA for any suggestions,

Faustus
