I started by gathering the various programs I want to use in one convenient location sorted by Windows install on hard drive, portable install on hard drive and portable install on thumb drive. I also have set up a new folder with subfolders for nLite, XP Pro, SP3 and the one nLite add-on I can find. I thought there was a WMP 11 add-on but I can't find it. Would prefer that to getting it via Win Update. I can't think of anything else I can slipstream that I really need. Can you? Some stuff, unfortunately can not be slipstreamed (as far as I know)... CA Security Suite, MS Office, Snag-it, my attachment extractor and dupe picture detector etc. I will slip stream everything I can, create an ISO, burn to a bootable CD and then install it. Next I'll install security software and everything else that needs a Windows install and then everything that gets a portable install. Then I will run Windows Update and Security Suite update. Then update everything else. By then I hope I have ATI 11 and can make a clone. Have you used the sandbox in ATI 11 yet? Is it better than MS VPC 2007? Once that is all done and I am happy, Can I use the clone to create a dual boot on a second hard drive or do I need to use the CD and install it? The Disk Director Suite has a boot manager, if the Windows boot manager doesn't like the clone will the DD manager? I'm gonna try to do the slipstreaming Monday before I go to work. I've read a lot of portable app descriptions and many noted that some things were written to the registry. I don't think I picked any of those. But I will watch as I progress.
