If you reformat, it is best to have the critical updates before you go to
the internet anyway because of that worm that hits just by the computer
connecting to the web. So many get that worm right away before they get
around to windows updates and especially if the connection is slow because
it takes more time and some get disconnected, tired of waiting for updates
to run, etc.
Sometimes the easiest thing is to format rather than try to find out what is
the matter. It takes less time. <G>
