Hi Stefan,
In addition to Larry's suggestions below, I would also strongly consider 
moving the My Downloads folders to the second volume.  The system will 
automatically follow the My Documents folder, but you will have to guide 
various programs to the new My Downloads location the first time you use 
them for a download following the Move.

If you have ANY questions at all about the procedures for doing these 
things, please don't hesitate to ask.  I could also do a remote connection 
with you to show you the approach right on your own system.
