okay, I officially have ten more gray hairs now.  But I think maybe Ive got 
a solution figured out for this program also now.  I was trying to highlight 
a section of the file in the graph like in the other program Goldwave, and 
thought I could save that selection as I did in goldwave to create a new 
file.  I dont know what the shading in on that graph is for as it did not 
let me play or save that part (unless I was doing it wrong which is possible 
;0).  I ended up accidently right clicking and seeing a function cut 
selection, so tried that and I think that will be my ticket for now.
