-=PCTechTalk=- Re: twaintec.dll

If you purchase it right now, don't be disappointed if there is a problem with
it. I have it - and love it!! but right now, mine isn't working properly, and
they (replied immediately when I wrote) that they are aware of the problem and
are working on it. My next update should fix it. Just not sure when the next
update will be!!!

I got mine for a 100% rebate offer thru zone alarm.

sir Troth gave good advice... but may I add that $40 is relatively
reasonable for what Pest Patrol does.

case in point - I was brought a laptop that would not connect to the
internet. loaded various free-ware spyware removers, which all would bomb
out when trying to delete the malware after scanning [854 instances]. by
bomb out, I mean the programs would simply shut down. after manually
removing the most malicious of them with various unregistering of dlls and
registry editing, I was able to remove the remaining bulk of spyware
programs with Pest Patrol. I had never before seen a computer so infested -
my record was 659 prior. since neither Spybot or AdAware would actually
remove the infestations, Pest Patrol saved me hours of dll and registry
manipulation.

it's very possible that you may have to reinstall PhotoShop before it will
perform correctly again.

oh... btw... twaintech and another twain version [not the ones associated
with PS or a scanner] were part of the 700+ item batch that PP cleaned up.

: I have this on my PC. Its some kind scumware program. I found directions
for manually removing it (AdAware and Spybot both failed at removing it) but
they are a bit complicated.

:
: Do I need to do A, B, then A, B, again, then follow the unregister, clean,
& remove steps?
: I'm a bit leary of trying the manual removal, but I don't want to pay $40
for Pest Patrol, especially since that only buys you updates for 1 yr.
:
: Also, yesterday, same day I found this twaintec on the pc, my Photoshop
developed a problem, rendering it unusable. No other programs on my pc seems
to be affected. Do you think this twaintec could be what messed up
Photoshop?
