you may have a few of them and most likely it is safe to delete the files, some 
may not as they may be in use.
  May I suggest a program such as CleanUp http://tinyurl.com/bopxo it is free 
and does a WONDERFUL job in deleting junk (use the options to delete more or 
less of the defaults and registry entries) VERY simple to use - it cleans the 
index.dat files too! a copy should be on the CD too.
