Hi Sylvia,
Perfectly clear, as always. :O)
When you use the "Named" field, it will only look for files and folders
who's NAME contains the word you type. Using the "Containing Text" field
instructs the utility to look for the word INSIDE every file. Exe, dll and
even vxd files contain a little text that either identifies them to the
programs that use them or contains the wording of the various error messages
those programs occasionally produce. Luckily, the name of the program is
usually a part of those error messages, so they show up in these searches.
After reviewing the 3 files your search discovered, I feel our first
'best bet' would be for you to peek inside your "marjan" folder in Outlook
Express. The offending file is probably an attachment that was sent to you
as part of one of the messages in that folder. Keep in mind that the
attachment may not be called "MadOnion". Then again, we may get lucky and
find that it is. If you don't find it by the name "MadOnion", I suggest
that you create a new subfolder in your My Documents folder and then
manually save ALL of the attachments this person sent to you in there. When
you're finished, close OE and then run another search using the "Containing
Text" field to find the term "MadOnion" inside that new subfolder (only on
that folder, as opposed to your entire hard drive). This will tell us which
of the files contains the reference to "MadOnion". From there, perhaps we
can get to the bottom of this mystery. I'll wait to hear back from you
before expanding on any additional thoughts on this situation.
Peace,
GMan

Hi GMan, thank you for the response.
First I learned another thing from you again today, never knew to do a
search in the "Containing Text" always did my search in files and folders
and could not find "MadOnion" there.
Did the search now in "Containing text" and it came up with 3 different
things: 1) setupapi.log C/Windows 419kB LOG-file and it says it is changed
on 4-15-03. I don't know what that is and I don't know of changing it. I
looked at it in the C/Windows file but can't do anything further with it.
2) Send Items.dbx C/Windows\Application 32.946 kB DBX-file.
3) marjan.dbx C/Windows\Application 1.003kB DBX-file.
In the Add/Remove function I can't remove it, I click on it but it stays
there and there is no warning.
So that is it, I hope I was clear enough. -:)
Sylvia.
