Sylvia,
I'm butting in only to help save Ellie from some of those one-handed
keystrokes. Of course, she'll probably laugh at this and tell me that she
needs the practice. ;O}
My first thought is that the software was already removed (or at least
moved to a different location). When you click on the Add/Remove button, it
looks to the registry for the location of a log file specific to that
program or game. The log file tells Windows exactly what to remove and
where it can find those items on the hard drive. If the file is not where
it is supposed to be, the Add/Remove function will either warn you that it
couldn't locate the file or it will just do nothing. My suggestion would be
to run a search on your hard drive for anything related to this program.
Place the word "MadOnion" (without the quotation marks) in the "Containing
Text" field of the Windows Search utility and let it run for as long as it
takes to complete. It may take quite some time to finish if you have a lot
of files. When it's finished, note the path to the files it finds. Open up
Windows Explorer and go to that location. If the files it finds are in any
of your main Windows folders (C:\Windows, C:\Windows\System, etc.), it won't
tell us much, but it should also lead you to a Program Files folder specific
to the program. If the search turns up nothing other than USER.DAT OR
SYSTEM.DAT (the two main files that make up the registry), then the program
has already been fully removed, except for the one registry entry. Let us
know what turns up and we'll help guide you further on getting rid of it
completely. :O)
Peace,
GMan

Hello Ellie,
Hope with a bit more time you feel better because just a week past after
surgery is very short. You can always borrow my left hand because I'm left
handed and very bad in doing things with my right hand. -:)
I downloaded the new Simcity4 a while ago so maybe it came with that game.
I'm sure I did not have it before because I have this computer for 2 years
now and the video-card came with it. Nobody else touches this computer and I
never had it in the shop. In the control panel in the software file it's not
possible to delete it. I tried to click on the install/remove buttom but
nothing happens, it just stays there.
I'm not so good on the computer to do a reformat every 6 months, I wish I
was, but I think I would mess things up more if I would do that.
sylvia.
