Cristy,
    A lot of things could cause that to take longer to show up.  It could be 
a loose connection on one of your hardware devices or perhaps a slightly 
corrupted driver or driver support file.  It could also be the result of too 
much running in the background (both TSR's as well as Windows Services).

    Do you recall installing or modifying anything just prior to noticing 
the slowdown?
