   No, because if I could see it in WD, I'd open it. It does not show until
I reboot the laptop. It does connect though, because I get a dialog box that
opens up and says the drive could perform faster if it was connected to a
faster USB port. Any other thoughts?

You probably have to right click Start, click on Explore, find your flash
drive and open it.
