I have trouble a lot with housecall, I thought because of my slow connection, but they're great with customer service, especially considering that it's a free service. I like to do it on occassion because it would catch worms that Norton missed. If you're having unexplained problems with your 'puter, I'd advise using their support services, I think it's worth the trouble. Haven't had it find anything that Panda doesn't...if I do a full system scan, I'm not really impressed with Panda's "permanent" protection, it lets quite a bit get by. And their customer service is really poor. BTW, pcpitstop uses Panda for their virus scanning. Never heard of Bit defender but I did get Panda to scan..Not a lick of a problem.. Housecalls just flat out refused to load..it would start in then start over I just figure it ain't my thing so I stopped with that one.... ----- Original Message ----- From: "taanzaa" <taanzaa@xxxxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, June 02, 2003 8:32 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: "runsearch" invasion... > You're not the only one who's had problems with > Housecall...I did manage to get the files loaded but, > when it was doing an update on the download (I'm > assuming) it added like 4 gigs worth of temp files to > my computer...I didn't know what the heck was going > on...I was going to try the fix that I read here on > the list but, if you've had no luck with it I might > not even try.... > > However Panda has an online scan and also Bit > Defender.... > > > To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk
