HI
Ok since this is a college situation, (Assuming they are in a college apt. I am
not clear on that
point) the college should have some tech's in their computer department to help
students with the
set up. Suggest you or she contact the college (maybe start with the college
main computer lab)
computer department and see if she needs to be assigned a password to get on
the college network. I
think you can take the laptop with you to the college computer department and
they will help set it
up. If so, be sure to take good notes on how that is done for the future. The
college might have an
on line web page that tells how to configure the computer to get on the college
network.
Even if they are in their own apt, I am sure that to get on the college network
you will have to
register with the college and get a password.
That covers taking care of setting up the putter to get connected to the
college network. Still have
to get connected to the router.
If the router is college supplied, the college should be able to help you get
logged on to it. If it
is a personal router, then someone must have the instructions for it (and
someone set theirs up to
work on the router, check with that person). If they don't try going on line
(using a room mates
puter or a college lab computer) and see if you can locate the manual and d/l
it and print it out.
Read and follow the instructions. Good Luck.
Life is what happens in between plans.
