ok - got it! I only want one partition. It isn't a huge drive to start with. It
was barely large enough to keep win ME running, let alone other programs!
now - to get my OE folders out of there before I do it - any thoughts on how to
do that?

It will give you a warning that it is an unremoveable drine and ask if you
are sure, do the yes thing and it will format. You can also fdisk it and
make it two or more drives if you want more drives, If you do fdisk be real
sure you have the number 2 drive and not your HHD you want to keep.
