right now things are fine..but you NEVER know. I do have the cd for SP2. so 
if push comes to shove and I need it again..........

Oh, that explains it then, I misread your email when you said you had been
there,  done that.
You need to put -at least- SP1 on  before going to the internet when you do
an install.

 Better if you can do a clean install and  put SP2 on your computer. You do
not need both if you install SP2. Then you can get updates for virus
protection safely.
