-=PCTechTalk=- Re: recording question

Hi Gman,

I put my project files in a folder all together and named it. I downloaded
winzip version 8.0 at the site others on here said to go to. I did what you
said and created a zipped file and copied it to my desktop where I was able
to extract the files into a folder and could see them fine. I recall doing
this with winzip years ago but had forgotten about how to do it.
But I am still confused about href comment below. Can I just send someone
the zipped file and if they have a program like winzip they unzip it and
click on the powerpoint presentation and view it and see and hear the movie
inserted in the show since the movie files are in the folder they unzipped
or do I still have to reference it or link it somehow and if so can you
spell it out real simple for me ;0

thanks,
simple me.

So, why not send the presentation and all of its support files inside a
compressed Zip file that can be opened into its very own folder. This
folder would then contain all of the files needed for the presentation to
run in its entirety. To make it work, you simply point your presentation
directly to the support files it needs (href lines would simply point to
"flute.wav" since the flute.wav file is right there in the same folder). Ti
make the Zip file force the creation of that separate folder, get all of the
files together in a single folder and then compress the folder itself,
instead of just compressing the contents of the folder. To test the zip
file, Copy it to your Desktop and uncompress it there. If it creates a
folder that contains all of the files, you're golden. :O)

Of course, if this creates more questions than it answers, give a yip.

Peace,
GMan
