Mike, good deal. Thanks. Will try to get something set up to hopefully keep
the posts and digests a bit more streamlined.

Thank you.

Hi Troth,
Here is a message we send out periodically, I also use it when I have to
reject a message for not trimming;

______________________________________

Remember that those on Digest receive all the repeated text,
footers and ads several times.

This comes from one of our members who has to pay for his
download time by the size and time taken to download;

"The message load is too heavy to sort out duplicates, and for
those of us on dial up, by the time the messages have gone
through Spam filters etc, it's going to become very unwieldy.
We unfortunately have to pay by the minute, and even 5 - 10
minutes daily is going to add a horrendous amount to our
monthly telephone charges."

   Please edit your replies to delete unnecessary quoted text.
Especially if you're putting your reply at the top of the message,
please take a moment to scroll down and delete most of the
quoted message, keeping only enough to identify what you're
replying to.
We've all usually had the opportunity to read the original message
so quoting it again in your reply isn't necessary. Please also delete
the list footers and Yahoo ads, no need to see those quoted.

Thanks
Mike the Mod (Not here<BG>)

That's actually a good idea... never thought about that... HOWEVER, only
problem with that is that sometimes its necessary to leave a previous post.
Cause, you want to know what the how conversation is about. But, maybe we
can do something to this effect, and add to that that its OK to leave the
previous post if its relevant to understanding the post.

Hi Troth,
on many of the groups I'm on we have added a footer;

< MODERATOR RULE: Delete everything below & including this line.>

It does not work every time but it gives the next person a trimming point<G>
