I just looked at my System Works. It does have a recover feature, and a 
Rollback Feature. (Remember I am using Win ME.)

If you have yours activated to mark points so you can Roll Back, that might 
be your best option. I disabled my System when it started interfering with 
a USB device I wanted to make use of.

After this, I am not sure what to suggest. There are services who can 
recover that file for you, hard drive "forensic services," but believe me, 
they are expensive. I used them ONCE; that was to recover tax files I 
needed badly.
