You can go to the public library and search in "Books in Print" which is
a database or a large multi-volume set of books. Ask a reference
librarian for help. However, if it is for educational purposes, you have
a right to limited use whether or not it is in print or out of print. A
polite request to the author or editor or publisher is nice but not an
absolute.
