Interesting idea. I am up to date with all my critical Windows patches,
though.

The problem is that when I see it, I don't remember what I have just been
doing! I just tried opening and closing various applications that I commonly
use (and opening a file or two w/in each one) and I can't make the icon
appear.

are telling it to use the desktop as the location for temporary files.>>

Wouldn't the files normally disappear when I was finished using the program?

It seems like this is a true mystery...
