I'm not sure then Sylvia -- my networking knowledge is minimal !! I remember
I had problems setting mine up and I had to turn off the firewall
temporarily to allow the computers to "see" each other but I must have
changed some settings in the firewall because its on now and they can
communicate.
It seems weird that your friend would be able to access the other computer
only intermittently. I wonder if the network card or wiring is defective?
Does she also have problems with her internet connection sometimes?
As I said -- i don't know that much about networking but keep asking here --
someone should be able to offer some assistance. Sorry I couldn't be of more
help.
