-=PCTechTalk=- Re: network problem.

Well the problem is still there. Both computers are on. WXP does the same
all the time, it does see both computers, from the own computer the shared
folders but from the other computer never the shared folders. W98 is
magicbox, she never sees any computer at all or only the own computer with
the own shared folders or both computers without the shared folders or both
computers with the shared folders.
This evening she saw both computers with shared folders, she does not do
anything with the computer and than a hour later she still see both
computers but on the W98 without the shared folders.
Very strange but we don't want to give up searching.

'not sure if my son ever tried again, but he was never able to access or
share/transfer files from one computer to another with our router, like he
was
supposed to be able to.
How do you do it?

maybe an obvious question but is she making sure both computers are turned
on and booted up at the time she's trying to access the shares?

The only time I get that error message between my XP and Win98 computers
that are networked is when I've forgotten that the upstairs one is turned
off.
