Most likely, OE is protecting you from HTML messages that could be
hiding a malicious payload. With all the trojans, worms, viruses and other
malware that proliferate through email, I strongly recommend that you keep
the settings right where they are.
However, if you receive a message that you know is clean and uses
Stationery (or you just want to see an HTML message in all of its glory),
simply hold down ALT+Shift and press the letter 'H' and the message will
convert to HTML formatting. OE will revert right back to plain text the
next time you open it or another message.
