-=PCTechTalk=- Re: mac vs pc

I will point out that Macs come with the software built in and full
featured, not trial versions. In addition, almost all special effects
movies, etc. coming out of Hollywood are done on Macs for a reason. There
are die hard PC fans who are just as convinced that they need more software
programs. I've never used Twisted Brush, or even heard of it as I'm not an
artist. As I've said, I use both PC's and Macs. I didn't find it at all
difficult to learn the Mac once I stopped expecting to need more steps. I
was always over complicating what I was trying to do.
There will be a learning curve, but it's not really difficult. Depending
on how you like to learn, there are books, tutorials and built in help as
well as online forums, just like there are for PCs. Obviously Judith, you
had a hard time switching over. I didn't. Since I am mostly on a PC now,
there is a few minutes before I remember how to use the Mac, but not
because it's hard. Just because it's different. I could trash Windows for
many things, but this is a PC list. Yes, there is more software out there
for PCs. One area that is screamingly obvious is in games. However,
that's not what you asked about. The software you'd use is definitely
likely to have been written for Macs and then ported to a PC which is one
reason it runs faster on the Mac in comparison tests. It will be
interesting to see if Macs runs Windows faster than PCs do once Leopard has
been out for a while. In the long run, I'd still choose a Mac over a PC,
but the ultimate decision is yours and only you can decide which makes
sense for you.
