-=PCTechTalk=- Re: loud computer

The big key to using the compressed air...is to NOT...I repeat....NOT
focus/point it directly at the components.......

What you would do is angle the air...so it blows indirectly. You do not
want to force the dust INTO the components..but blow it out of them.....

It is amazing how dust gets in there to begin with. It might be a good
thing...(I should take this to heart!) to make sure to use the air at least
as each season changes,

It has nothing to do with the seasons..it is just a way to remember to do
it. It is like changing the battery on your smoke detector when the time
changes. (Those of you who do not change the time, can still do it on the
time the rest of us are running around the house changing 2 dozen clocks!)
Don't forget the carbon monoxide ones too.... if they have batteries...mine
do not.

Have fun.....

HI Rose,

Cut it on this morning and dont hear itmuch now. Yes, I have felt to see if
air was blowing out and if it was warm. I dont feels lots of air coming out
but a little, the computer did not feel warm but had been on for hours. No
disk was in it as I checked. Is a pretty new computer only about a year and
1/2 old maybe. I am thinking maybe dust, but who knows. I've never used
that compressed air stuff before but could buy some and see if my brother
can show me what to do with it, or maybe I dont have to take the computer
apart to do it. I will make note today when and if it starts to hum.

Thanks,
Christine
