The custom HOSTS file is the first place your computer looks for the IP address of a website you want to go to or that the website or email you are on tells it to go to to get something... typically an advertisement. A typical entry might look like this: 127.0.0.1 www.majoradvertising.com The 127.0.0.1 is the local host (your computer) IP address. Every time your computer wants to go to www.majoradvertising.com it will go to your computer instead of the actual website it wants to go to. Read here for a better explanation and to download a hosts file. http://www.komando.com/tips_show.asp?showID=8510 (if that is broken try this: http://tinyurl.com/degx5) Don ----- Original Message ----- From: <sandy1943@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, May 09, 2005 5:53 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: lost images in email again > what's that?
