That is very interesting.   Does that mean that your computer is receiving
email and any virus that is going around when your computer is normally
switched off  ??

Its not really a trick. Its the same think with "awaken on LAN", where a
networked machine can technically turn your machine on. When your computer
is off, its really NOT off. The exception is much older systems... so much
older that most of us probably don't have that. Your on/off switch on your
tower is a "soft" switch. Your hard switch is the power button that's
located behind your power supply. THAT's the real power switch. As long as
this "hard" switch is on, your computer is technically always on, drawing
very little power (not sure on the exact voltage, but just enough to detect
the clicking of the "soft" power switch. So, if your BIOS has the option, as
many of them do, all your doing is telling your computer that you want to
use your space bar as a "soft" switch to power the computer on (not off,
just on). The keyboard gets power because its connected to the tower. And,
yes, keyboards need power. All the BIOS is doing is making the SPACE bar
equal to the POWER button
  on your tower. All real simple. Actually, with my BIOS, you can set a few
things to power on the system. I use the SPACE bar, but I think there's also
ESC, DEL, INSERT and maybe a few others.
There goes... now everyone learned something new... your computer is always
on, even when its off.
