with Windows XP running normaly.
It opened XP's "Narrator" program and added it to my start up.

Hello Group,
I fired up the PC this morning only to find out that the monitor had messed
itself and would not come on. This left me with a dilemma re shutting down ,
so
I left it on until a tech came.

He showed me what to do...... press the windows key, then the letter "u" and
then enter.
