Hi Jo Ann,
That ECS is a budget board and may not be able to handle RAM that is not
factory set to the exact specs the board expects. I'll suggest going into
the BIOS and manually setting the latency timing specs for the memory
(timing parameters appear as 2-3-2-6-T1 or some variation), but there's no
guarantee that a board at this level will include the ability to adjust
those timings.
Every mobo maker includes a list of memory that has been tested and is
known to work with that board. Below is the full link to the page specific
to this board (Copy/Paste all parts into your browser). In the Related
Links section (lower left), you'll see a link for the QVL Memory. That's
the list of recommended RAM for this board.
