Hi all, I have been away this week... hubby had a bad hypo on Sunday and was
in hospital until yesterday.

About Sandi´s radio connection, I have it here and although mine does not
work well it is still a better option in places where you can´t get ADSL.

GMan, you are right, they gave Sandi a PCMCI (???) card which is for a
lap/notebook. If she wants to use it on her desktop the company should have
given her an external modem (with directional aereals), which is to be
plugged into the computer (with an USB). A cd comes with it which installs
the program for the internet provider.

I wish Sandi good luck and hope hers will be better than mine... Whereas the
speed is not too bad the connection is dreadful, falls every 3-4 minutes and
interrupts any download I am doing. It has been hellish all these months,
but thank God broadband has finally come around and next week I should be
having it installed!!!

Lil

Sandi,
It sounds like you're looking at a card designed for a laptop. Call
them and ask why they said it could work for a desktop. If they want to
stand by that assessment, ask them to explain how you would go about making
it work. If at all possible, record the conversation so that nothing in
their explanation is missed.

As a side note, send in the make/model of the card itself so I can see
what you've got there.

Peace,
Gman
