Cristy,
    If nothing was done within your system (no updates, no new app 
installations, no changes to settings, etc.), then don't go changing any 
settings now to try and 'fix' it.  Chances are very good that this is a DSL 
delivery issue that's occuring well outside of your home.  Do you know 
anyone else in your area that is also a DSL customer of theirs?  See if 
they're having a similar issue if you do.

    Can you nutshell the conversation you had with Earthlink?  Was any part 
of it to determine if there was a problem with the connection itself or did 
you focus on your email with them?  Did they specifically say there were no 
issues with your area's overall DSL connection?  etc.
