Also - can you tell me more about a DSL switch?
I had the MS firewall turned off when I had outpost, but 
figured it was better than nothing, once my outpost was 
uninstalled.

Inaccurate.

My recommendation is to run a DSL switch (which is a 
"mechanical"
firewall) and also run a software firewall.  I currently use 
Outpost.
There are many good ones though.  I would NOT use the MS 
firewall
under any circumstances..........it's not ready for prime 
time.
