-=PCTechTalk=- Re: deleting files from CD-rw

Hello again,

Almost a year ago I bought this great Compaq with Windows98 and spent too
much time trying to figure out how to use RW/CD's with the ease I had in
Windows 98 I was getting the same messages as you speak about ... all files
in the backed up folders were becoming "read only" and it made no sense
where I would want to change something there (which is what a backup should
be doing). It was impossible so i finally purchased at Staples a flash
drive. The one I have is called "Attache" (with an accent over the e), and
it works with the ease of a floppy. A floppy? What's that? Computers don't
have them anymore.

It's a cute little thingie that has an extension cord that plugs into any
USB port. I use the port at the rear of the tower and extend it around to
the side if I need it for any reason. If I have to travel with it (whcih I
seldom do) it even comes with an cord that attaches to the drive and fits
around my neck. Some people wear gold chains; I'll wear a flash drive.

It holds something like 1,000 MB, lasts a lot longer than any CD, it's very
fast, and cost me (maybe on sale) $60. That's the end of RW/CD's for me when
it comes to storing my backups ...Harold
