You could buy a new firewire component and replace the bad one, but the
desired computer does not have a firewire port. I do not know of any
adapter to go from firewire to USB but you could buy a firewire card for the
computer.
You could buy a USB equal to the firewire component to replace it but that
is probably as expensive as buying a whole new enclosure, and you would need
a certain level of technical skill to accomplish the change.
The only other solution I can think of would be to purchase a new enclosure
with an appropriate device for connecting to the desired computer.
