Me too, I have Never hibernate and it shuts itself off after the safe to turn off your computer screen. (W-Me) ~Glo ----- Original Message ----- Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: computer shutdown question This is not true on my XP system. Mine is set to never hibernate, and it shuts itself off after the safe to turn off your computer screen. Jo Ann > Dear Glo and Jo Ann: It doesn't matter whether you have XP, Milenium, 98SE or whatever Windows OS -- the reason it turns off or doesn't is in the "Power" Setting. . Go to a blank area of your desktop and Right Click. Then Click "Properties" Click open the "ScreenSaver" tab at the top. Click on the "Power" button and open each box. If you're "System Hibernates" says 'never' when you click the arrow to it's right, it will not shut the computer off. You merely have to move your mouse or hit any key on your keyboard and the computer comes alive. If you have any [and I do mean any] time set, after that time it will shut your computer completely off and you have to hit the button to turn it on.
