-=PCTechTalk=- Re: computer shutdown question

Hi everyone,
Hibernate and shutting itself off are indeed two different things. Hibernate
shuts down the computer but saves everything the way it was before shutdown.
If you windows open and programs running, when you turn the computer back on,
those programs will start up again, just like you left it. You could have been
writing a letter in Word. The Word program would open and the letter would be
there just where you left off writing it.

The automatic shut off happens when you select shut down. Some computers are
able to turn the power off themselves and others require pressing the on\off
button on the case of the computer. The hibernate setting has nothing to do
with this.

You can think whatever you want to Emma, but mine doesn't hibernate and it
shuts itself off.
