If you mean you want to view only a small section at a time then use the
zoom buttons (look like magnifying glasses).  There is a zoom-in button or
you can select the section you want to view and click the "fit selection in
window" button (the 3rd button with magnifying glass pic).

Are you out there?  I am using audacity and I forgot how to view the sound 
wave bigger so I can edit by seconds and minutes.  I am chopping it up into 
separate files.  I know it is something simple but darned if I can remember.
