    Sorry for my disappearance, but holiday stuff dictated that I severely 
limit my internet time.

    I can only imagine that you're either already home or about to go there, 
so that makes attending to this issue rather moot, especially since I'm 
really not sure why you're still getting the dial-up indicator instead of a 
regular network indicator.  I have to wonder if you're actually seeing the 
network one and confusing it with the other since they are exactly the same 
(except for the words you'll see when you hover over it).  In any case, let 
me know if it's still a problem and if it looks like it'll be a while before 
you take the system home to hook up with Earthlink for real.      :O)
