But how do you GET to the right directory? I have a file that is keeping me
from reformating--it comes up as
R:\T2385.gho a symantic ghost thing..I have no other files that I know
of but ghost must be in there somewhere. I can't get past it and doing a
search in win doesn't get it.. all I know is that number.

Hi Ml,
As long as you know the name of the file you can delete it from a command
line prompt.
In Wnidows 9x it is your DOS prompt window.
In NT, Windows 2000, and XP just go to your Start button and select Run.
In the box type CMD and hit enter and you are at the command prompt.
Change to the directory where the offending file is and type
"del Norton Ghost" (without the ") and press the enter key.
It will be gone.
or whatever the file name is.

I wonder,,, could I remove these stubborn programs from DOS? I used to do
that back in the days of " 95"..if I could what command would I use to GET
into DOS? I used to know that..but it's been so long. I do have a command
prompt..I just don't know what use....if I could get that stuff out of the
way I could reformat. I hope.
