Troth,
I know it's a silly question, but have you tried replacing the ethernet
cable first? If all other systems are working fine, nothing beyond that
cable should be touched.
My second though is that I've also never seen a LAN light glowing
orange, but I also know that a red LED without sufficient power can glow a
very light red, which would appear as orange under the right circumstances.
Test the PS and make sure it's providing enough juice for the system. there
may be a bad rail or something else that's preventing full power from
reaching that light (and other things).
In the meantime, I'm off to see if I can find some real info for you on
those lights.
