When your friend reinstalled, he never removed the old operating system. So, XP
installed itself as a second instance. So, now he basically has a dual boot
system. He should see on his hard drive both directories of both operating
systems. He can delete the one he no longer wishes to use, and then someone
else on this list can tell you how to remove the boot menu so that it
automatically boots into the correct installation (I stink at that one).
