Yes, it's available. Go into MY NETWORK PLACES, then select VIEW NETWORK CONNECTIONS on the left-hand side. Then right-click on the connection in question and select PROPERTIES. Go to the advanced tab and place a check mark in the INTERNET CONNECTION FIREWALL box. Just keep in mind that its a very basic firewall, but does do the job for most cases... except the heavy hitters trying to hack your system. And, it only protects against incoming, not outgoing, as ZA does. ::: Troth ::: ______________________ ICQ: 1717439 MSN: SirTroth@xxxxxxxxxxx Yahoo IM: SirTroth AIM/AOL: SirTrothX ______________________ ::: Original Message ::: Sent Sun, 25 Jan 2004 09:59:10 +1100 by James macmillan | Hi does xp home edition have a built in firewall, hope so don't like za etc, | your replies appreciated | James Sydney | | | To unsub or change your email settings: | //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk | | To access our Archives: | http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ | //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ | | For more info: | //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk
